Heads Up is Supa’s broadcast tool for one-way communication to your frontline workforce. When you need everyone in the organisation — or a specific group — to receive and acknowledge a message, Heads Up gives you the delivery confirmation that an email or group chat cannot: a real-time list of who has read it and who has not.

Key features

Acknowledgment and read receipts

See a live list of who has read your announcement and who has not. Follow up with unread recipients directly from the Heads Up dashboard.

Rich media

Attach images, videos, and files to your announcement. Use images to show a new display planogram, attach a video for a safety briefing, or include a PDF policy document.

Precise targeting

Send to your entire organisation, a specific location, a specific role, or any combination. Heads Up reaches exactly the people who need to know.

Safety alerts and routine news

Use the same tool for urgent safety alerts and routine company communications. Mark a message as high priority to trigger an immediate push notification.

Send a Heads Up

1

Open Heads Up

In Supa, navigate to Heads Up in the sidebar and click New Announcement.
2

Compose your message

Write the announcement title and body text. Keep the message clear and direct — frontline staff may read it between tasks on a mobile screen.
3

Add media

Click Attach to add an image, video, or file. Supported formats include JPEG, PNG, MP4, and PDF.
4

Select your audience

Under Send to, choose one or more of the following:
  • Entire organisation — all active users
  • Location — all staff at one or more specific sites
  • Role — all users with a specific role (e.g., all Shift Supervisors)
5

Set priority

Toggle High priority for urgent safety alerts. High-priority messages trigger an immediate push notification and appear at the top of the recipient’s Heads Up list.
6

Send and monitor

Click Send. The announcement is delivered immediately. In the Heads Up dashboard, watch the read receipt count update in real time as recipients open the message.

Use cases

  • New procedure rollout — Announce a change to a cleaning or preparation procedure and require staff to acknowledge they have read it before their next shift.
  • Safety alert — Broadcast an urgent safety warning (equipment failure, weather event, security incident) to all locations or affected sites.
  • Policy change — Share an updated HR policy, code of conduct revision, or compliance requirement and track acknowledgment for your records.
  • Promotional information — Distribute new campaign assets, pricing updates, or promotional materials to store staff ahead of a launch date.

How recipients see Heads Up

When a Heads Up is sent, recipients receive:
  1. A push notification on their mobile device (if the Supa app is installed)
  2. An in-app banner when they next open Supa — the announcement appears prominently at the top of their screen and requires a tap to dismiss
  3. A persistent entry in their Heads Up inbox until they acknowledge it
Unacknowledged announcements remain visible in the recipient’s inbox and continue to show as unread in your dashboard.
Heads Up is a one-way broadcast tool. Recipients cannot reply to a Heads Up message. If you need a two-way conversation — for example, to answer questions about a new procedure — use Team Chat instead and link it to the relevant topic.
